2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback Release Date And Review

2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback

2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback Release Date And Review-Your Yen vs sterling situation is sorted, though, and so here is the more humdrum hatch. Two versions can be purchased, both using exactly the same 112bhp 1. 6-litre flat-four engine but pre-loaded with either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT, dubbed Lineartronic. Prices start at a commendable £17, 495 for your Impreza RC inside manual form, climbing to £18, 995 for your CVT, which possesses slightly more great CO2 emissions and also better official gas economy at 140g/km and also 46. 3mpg respectively. It is the CVT version weve got tested here.

A reduction in other engine options means the Impreza immediately appears hobbled when compared to the choices available with direct rivals such as Focus, Astra and also Golf.

Yet it does go into battle with some traditional Subaru signatures. As an example, its petrol engine sends its power to all four wheels – an extremely exotic attribute for the sub-£20k hatchback.

On start-up it seems like a mildly muted version of the STi’s turbocharged flat-four, which is either pleasing or a little unwelcome depending on your personal taste.

It settles as a result of a rather refined note for the flat-four though. The trouble is that is certainly needs a great deal of stirring in buy to extract any kind of overtaking urge, and if you need to get up to help cruising speeds quickly you ought to be quite brutal with all the throttle.

In real truth, the optional CVT seems mostly find fault. It’s one of the people infuriating examples of the breed where engine speeds rise more rapidly than road data transfer speeds; a sort regarding slipping clutch reaction whenever you put your foot down. Yes, the ‘box creates small positive distinction to mpg and also CO2 emissions nevertheless the manual instinctively is like the one to help order.

Predictably, grasp and traction are usually good, though we all only sampled this specific Impreza on dry roads. Even so, the chassis doesn’t think that it’s going to get trouble by your 1. 6’s electric power and torque. It’s cozy too. There is several road noise and also a slightly stiff-legged town ride but it settles down with 40-50mph and continues pliant.

One common catch of Subaru cabins is which they lack the pattern flair and quality of the most useful of the type. The Impreza’s, true to make, doesn’t have exactly the same lustre as you’ll acquire from, say any VW Golf or Peugeot 308, specially when you cast your eyes downward. Yet almost all of the bits that the thing is and touch are usually of decent high quality.

The controls too are classified as the nice’n’simple variety : chunky rotary knobs for your heating etcetera. Theyre easy to use but look somewhat dated. Comfort will be good though, due to a flat, encouraging seat and great adjustment, while fore and also aft visibility is better than in most. Space to suit your needs, your three individuals and luggage is good without having to be exceptional.

In reality, good without being exceptional is the lasting impression of the Impreza. Like for like, you’d be unwise to take into account this instead of a Golf, Focus, or nearly any mainstream hatch. And there’s without a doubt that for an excellent sway of business funded buyers without having a diesel can be a huge drawback.

Yet, there’s no skepticism that having four-wheel drive just for this price is a good attraction in some regions and that joined with Subaru’s reputation to make hardy, hard-wearing cars can be a compelling choice. So if it’s to suit your needs it’s for anyone. It’s just not the very first (or second) choice for most people.

Ford Figo Hatchback

Ford Figo Hatchback 2015 Overview

Ford India is prepping an all-new model of its flagship, Figo hatchback. This new model was recently previewed in India as the Ford Ka Concept at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. Internally known as the B562 the new Figo / Ka will be rolled out from Ford’s upcoming facility in Sanand, Gujarat by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

Ford Figo Hatchback Design

The all-new Figo hatchback will come with an updated styling based on Ford’s global design language with the refreshed hexagonal grille in the front - that looks similar to the one seen on Aston Martins. The new Figo hatchback / Ka underpins the Mk5 Fiesta platform and features design cues like the LED headlamps, bumpers and others with the Ford Mondeo and the Focus. The roofline headed towards the trunk lid with pronounced lines creates a sense of dynamism. The rear end of the car features a spoiler and large tail lamps.

Ford Figo Hatchback Engine Specifications

We expect the new Figo to be powered by the 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. These engines currently power the new Fiesta and the EcoSport SUV in the Indian market. Both engines will come mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission. Automatic gearbox could also be offered in the top-end variants.

Once launched in India, the new car will either replace the current Figo hatchback in the market as the new Figo for the model year 2015, or Ford could simply, launch the new car with the Ka name and slot it above the current Figo.

We will know more about Ford’s decision and plans in the coming months.
