The new model, rumoured to get called i9, would make use of the same carbonfibre bath as the i8 but would get more aggressive styling, an increased engine and a far more powerful electric electric motor.
The engine is understood to be the new modular 3. 0-litre six-cylinder unit which is in development and set show up first in the upcoming 7-series replacing.
The i9 will be the next model to participate BMW’s i sub-brand. Also planned is the i5, a stretched version in the i3.
Currently used in the i8 is usually a three-cylinder 1. 5-litre turbocharged petrol engine in combination with an electric electric motor. Total power end result is rated with 357bhp, alongside 420lb feet.

Expect the i9 to further improve on the common cars 0-62mph dash time of four. 4 seconds, in addition to its 155mph prime speed.
