When it was redesigned in 2011, the Kia Optima pitched bland, past mediocre and go for broke. Gamble paid off, and the Optima is currently not only one of the best family sedans for the economy, it is also one of the best-looking car of its kind - and some other types, too. 

Its right in the same class with the likes of the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and a host of other family four-door, but there was very little square in profile Optima catch. Kia different styling direction is the opposite of the carefree, the statue was seen in the entire Hyundai lineup and the Optimas fraternal twin, the Sonata sedan. The Optima contrasts with a sporty, European-tinged view of the lower roofline, stretched headlamps, and a nice upkick in place behind him. Its interesting - focus, clean, relaxed, with an athletic stance and flashy chrome wheels. The interior is a good match, with a large set of gauges and controls the width of the rectangle bank tilted toward the driver, ersatz Audi with almost all of the sophistication and less clutter. 

In performance, Optima serves three types of drivers. Basic car has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with direct injection, 200 horsepower and just a touch mediocre sound and vibration when it cuts out. A six-speed manual is offered; we have tested the six-speed automatic, which is a team of experts with four. A turbocharged SX variant whistles along with 274 horsepower and paddle controls to automatic, Upconverting Optima personality into something authentic sporty, along the lines of the latest Buick Regal or the VW CC. 

On top of the complexity curve is a Hybrid, which the team on the basis of four-cylinder with an electric motor and a battery which, in our opinion, could use more work on smoothing and integrating the juddering that sometimes comes at a moderate pace, when the hybrid drivetrain drops gas power to operates on electric charge alone. With all powertrains, gas mileage highway hits minimum of 33 mpg in turbos, with a four-cylinder beat of hybrids achieve 35 mpg and 39 mpg rated for. We have been having trouble hitting the high water mark hybrids, but the base Optima offers repeatable, real-world gas mileage that tops in its class, and the same with some economy cars.
